International Conference of Sport for Development and Peace http://proceedings2.upi.edu/index.php/ICSDP <p>In line with the 2015-2030 United Nations development issues, which are the umbrella for development in all countries in the world, namely: “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs), which are explicitly regulated in the sports sector on the issue of “Sport for Development &amp; Peace” (SDP) has become a strategic issue to be disseminated throughout the world and has become an interesting research area for scientists in the field of physical education and sports.SDP emphasizes that sports are believed to have superiority and noble values to be instilled in an effort to shape the human personality in one unit, between physical, spiritual, and social and is seen as contributing to improving the quality of life of the people of a nation. The process of transferring universal sports values must become basic knowledge for every teacher and sports coach because it is one of the key factors in implementing the issue of Sport for Development and Peace and the practice of the development paradigm through sport (Development through Sport) in micro level. This transfer of values is a process in positioning sport as a vehicle for positive youth development (PYD). The International Conference of Sport for Development and Peace (ICSDP) is an international event held as a forum to invite researchers, academics, and practitioners related to these issues. In addition, this conference is also open to broader topics such as youth development, sport policy and development, sport science, sport coaching, physical education and school sports, etc.</p> Program Studi Pendidikan Olahraga, Sekolah Pascasarjana, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia en-US International Conference of Sport for Development and Peace 2830-3342 EXPLORING THE EXPERIENCES AND PERCEPTIONS OF PHYSICAL LITERACY AND ADVENTURE IN ADOLESCENTS http://proceedings2.upi.edu/index.php/ICSDP/article/view/3261 <div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>This study aims to understand adolescent perceptions and experiences in terms of physical literacy and adventure. Two main objectives in this research; 1) Understand the views and experiences of adolescents regarding physical literacy including their attitudes towards physical activity, such as interest, motivation, self-confidence, or satisfaction in participating in physical activity); 2) Knowing how adventure activities contribute to the development of physical literacy (exploring the contribution made by adventure activities to the development of physical literacy in adolescents and how adventure experiences can help adolescents develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and understanding of physical activity). The method in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques using library research, interviews, questionnaires, and observation. Aspects of analysis include definitions, concepts, views, thoughts, and arguments. Sources of data in research are primary data and secondary data. The participants in this study were teenagers who are members of the Indonesian outdoor activist community. In the discussion of this research, the focus will be given to adolescents' views on physical literacy and physical activity, including their attitudes toward physical activity. The results of the analysis of adventure experiences contribute to the development of adolescent physical literacy which includes aspects of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and understanding they gain through adventure activities. The results of this research can provide valuable insights for educators, parents, or practitioners in the education and health fields to develop strategies that support the development of physical literacy in adolescents, as well as promote adventure activities as a tool to achieve these goals.</p> </div> </div> </div> Asep Ridwan Kurniawan Komarudin Berliana Jusuf Blegur Yulinar Wening Nugraheni Risma Copyright (c) 2023-12-01 2023-12-01 6 1 1 14 THE INFLUENCE OF SKILLASTIC GAMES AND TRADITIONAL SPORTS BASED ON DEMOGRAPHIC LOCATION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL COMPETENCE AND MOTOR COMPETENCE IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN http://proceedings2.upi.edu/index.php/ICSDP/article/view/3262 <div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>This research aims to investigate the influence of skillastics game and traditional sport on social competence and motor competence based on demographic location (urban and rural) among elementary school children in west Java. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the application of periodization of undulating exercises on increasing muscle endurance and power endurance. The research method is experimental, the design used is one group pretest-posttest, and the sample is 12 people. The instrument used for muscular endurance is the wall sit, and for power endurance is the hard jump. For data analysis using pared sample t test. The results showed that there was an increase in muscle endurance and power endurance after being given a strength training program with undulating periodization. This is evidenced by the results of data processing which show a significant value of muscle endurance and strength endurance of 0.00 &lt; 0.05. This research offers a brief commentary on the challenges and opportunities in promoting positive youth development and life skills amidst the increasing professionalization of youth sports. In the first part of this article, a case is made for tempering our expectations about the intrinsic developmental value of sport and instead focusing on youth issues for life skills and experiential learning opportunities. In the second part of this article, coach education and the professionalization of youth sports are examined as contemporary challenges in terms of the dilemmas they create and the opportunities they present. The increasing professionalization of sports in Indonesia has significantly benefited athlete achievement and popularity. Extracurricular is an activity carried out by students outside school hours. This activity aims to be able to develop the personality values, talents, and abilities of students in various fields outside the academic field. These extracurricular activities themselves can be in the form of sports or non - sports activities which have a positive aim for the progress of the students themselves. By participating in these activities, a person can not only develop their personality, they can also develop the talents and interests they have. Both of these activities can contribute to the cultivation and development of students' life skills. However, until now no empirical data has been found regarding the extent of the contribution of sports and non - sports extracurricular activities in the development of life skills. For this reason, further research is needed regarding life skills in extracurricular activities at school. This study aims to analyze the comparison of the level of life skills of sports and non - sports extracurricular students at senior high schools in Sumedang. This study uses an incidental sampling technique, in which anyone who meets the researcher by chance can be used as a sample if it is deemed that the person met by chance is suitable as a data source. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method. The research instrument used was the Life Skills Scala for Sport (LSSS) questionnaire. Data analysis in this study was descriptive statistics with data processing using Statistical Product for Social Science (SPSS) version 26. The results of this study found a comparative value of the level of life skills in the group of students who took part in sports extracurriculars to get 72%, while the group who took part in extracurricular non - exercise gained 68%. Then the percentage data for each of the 8 life skills components are generated, namely the cooperation component 13%, goal setting 15%, time management 13%, leadership 11%, emotional skills 15%, social skills 20%, and problem solving and decision making components 13%. Then from the results of the data that has been obtained it can be concluded that the sports extracurricular group has a better level of life skills than the non - sports extracurricular group. And the component that dominates each extracurricular group is the social skills component.</p> </div> </div> </div> Anandanindyas N.J. In an era filled with academic and mental stress, a good level of cognition is critical to academic achievement and student well-being. Sports, including futsal, have been shown to provide broad benefits in cognitive development. However, the effect of goal setting training in the context of futsal on students' cognitive functions is still under-studied. This study used an experimental method with a pre-test post-test control group design. The research participants consisted of 35 students (age 16.80 ± 0.79 years) who took part in futsal extracurricular activities. They were randomly divided into an experimental group (20 students) and a control group (15 students). Cognitive function measurement instruments include attention, memory, language, visual, and executive function tests that have been tested for reliability and validity before and after the intervention. The results showed that there was a significant difference in improving cognitive function between the experimental group and the control group. These findings provide strong evidence that goal setting training in the context of futsal can be an effective strategy to improve students' cognitive function. By increasing motivation, focus, and ability to manage goals, this training has a positive impact on students' cognitive development.
